Last night the Redcliffe Small Business Web Marketing Group got together again. If you haven’t heard of the group then check it out at: http://www.meetup.com/redcliffesmallbusinesswebmarketing/
Thanks also to 3W IT Consulting at Margate for providing the venue.
It is a group of local business owners who get together to discuss online marketing tips, tricks and experiences – all delivered at the level of other small business owners rather than super geeks. There is nil cost to attend.
The previous session focused on how search engines work and the general theory of getting your website to rank well in search results.
This session covered Facebook and its very high importance for local businesses. We looked at Facebook at the global, Australian and local market levels and attendees could really see that having a Facebook presence for their business is now just as important as having a website – but that it’s a whole new ballgame in terms of how you approach it.
We also covered the correct way to setup your business presence on Facebook and looked at many of the mistakes that people make.
The Brisbance Broncos and Redcliffe Dolphins were cited as examples of how not to do it. This video is an excerpt of the information shared on the night.
By the end of the video you will be able to setup a better technical Facebook page than what these two large organisations have at the time of publishing (if not the 125,000 fans that the Brisbane Broncos have).
Let’s see if these sporting teams pick up on the tips and can improve their Facebook setups.
Are you thinking about launching your business into Facebook? Then it will worth your time to get some advice before setting off down the wrong track.
